Oil Heritage Festival Bike ‘n Brew – Outdoor Activities

The 2018 Bike ‘n Brew includes FREE outdoor activities in and around Oil City from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 21.

The Venango Region is fortunate to offer some of the best bicycling you’ll ever find. For those partial to a paved trail, you’ll have access to more than 70 miles of trail, from one end of Venango County to the other, along creeks and rivers, through tunnels and our picturesque communities or Titusville, Oil City, Franklin, and Emlenton.

Not only do we have paved bike trails in our area, but we have mountain bike, hiking, water, geocaching, equestrian, and cross country skiing trails, too! We encourage you to experience the outdoor recreation in our area during this year’s Bike ‘n Brew, no matter what form of trail you choose.

Bike Rodeo (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.)

A bike rodeo for children ages 5-12 will be held in Justus Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The rodeo is sponsored by PennDOT and Safe Kids Clarion-Venango.

Bike Rodeo Flyer

League of American Cyclists Lessons (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.)

Participants will practice bike skills (participants are to bring their bike and helmet) and be instructed on how to navigate city streets and trails. A short ride to point out where and how to ride legally and safely on city streets will occur. This instruction is geared for 12 to adult who may find themselves intimidated when trying to ride on the road. Along with this free instruction, there is a bike rodeo for kids, self guided ride routes, a bike mechanic on duty, and more. All cycling activities are weather permitting. Please sign up below:

Guided Rides (10 a.m.)

For experienced cyclists, a guided ride will leave Justus Park at 10 a.m. and go through Venango County.

Self-Guided Rides

We encourage people to use our recreational trails throughout the day. Depending on your needs, we can offer you or your group a customized route, including a bike trail, road, or off-road ride. We have put together 10 routes on Strava (an online app) and you can find the routes here.

If you give us an idea of what you would like, we can set you up with routes with water breaks and other comforts, or anything else you would like or need. For questions or for a customized day, please contact our Bike ‘n Brew Biking Chairperson Kevin Culbertson at (814) 758-4525 or cubschoice@gmail.com.

Shuttle Service

A free shuttle is available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m to transport you to various points on our miles of paved trails. If you will be using the shuttle, please fill out our short form:
