Venango County Fair, Inc owns and operates the county fairgrounds and conducts the annual Venango County Fair in August each year. The fairgrounds are located on Route 62 three miles south of Franklin and includes 66 acres with several buildings, the Kiwanis Bowl (an outdoor show ring), Phillips Arena (an indoor show ring), a picnic and recreation area. The Auditorium Building is home to the Penn State Cooperative Extension Service with runs the 4-H program. Indoor storage space for cars, campers, boats, etc. is available from October 1 to April 1. Two buildings, the Autorium and the Log Cabin Classroom are available for year round use of the community for a fee. Venango County Fair is a showcase for county agriculture, 4-H projects and to have a good time.

The Venango Conservation District provides educational, technical and financial assistance for quality and sustainable natural resource management. The local agency serves the residents and businesses of Venango County, as well as visitors. The organization has been working with local landowners and their natural resource needs since 1961, when it was established by the Venango County commissioners.
The activities of the conservation district are guided by a volunteer board of nine directors, including one commissioner. Directors are local citizens with various backgrounds who also have an interest and familiarity with natural resource issues. The Venango Conservation District works with other local, state and federal partners to coordinate programs to serve the needs of Venango County.

Mission Statement:
The Venango VNA Foundation is a nonprofit corporation whose sole purpose is to generate funding to support the charitable care and services provided by the Visiting Nurses Association of Venango County.

Founded in 1984, The Venango County Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) Foundation was established to support the VNA of Venango County and its efforts in the community. Currently, the VNA Foundation funds a variety of programs that benefit the community and its residents. These include charity care for patients of VNA/non-reimbursable services, blood pressure clinics, annual memorial service, various patient centered needs i.e. supplies, medical equipment, and financial assist, bereavement support groups that meet monthly, caregiver support group and stroke support group. All contributions that are received by the Foundation, stay here in our community. Venango VNA Foundation is its own non-profit organization separate from UPMC.

In June of this year the Visiting Nurses Association of Venango County (VNA) relocated their offices to Sugarcreek Towne Centre (near Kmart), 491 Allegheny Blvd in Franklin, centrally located in Venango County. The newly renovated space is perfectly suited for the VNA's offices and staff of 140. With this highly visible location, the staff is also afforded the convenience of other nearby businesses.

A subsidiary of UPMC Northwest, VNA of Venango County is a Medicare-certified organization that provides a variety of services including skilled nursing, home health aides, physical/occupational/speech therapy, monthly support groups (cancer, stroke and bereavement) and many additional services. In addition, VNA Private Duty provides a variety of services for area residents including home attendants, live-in companions, help with medications, massage therapy and a personal response system.

The mission of the Venango County Historical Society is to collect county history and make it accessible to the public. Collecting history is accomplished by acquiring artifacts relating to the county, and then accessing and recording them and placing them in appropriate storage. Making history available is presented in various ways. A Genealogical Library and an Archival Research Center are available for family and community research. Among the many documents available for research and group documents, photographs, as well as, the original pages of wills, naturalizations and estate papers from 1800-1900 (which are on permanent loan from the County Courthouse).

The Society periodically publishes books and pamphlets on county history and has them for sale. Closed from January to March 31st. In April the Library and House are open on Saturdays only, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. May 1st to December 31st the Society is open to public on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm. The Research Library is open on Wednesday and Thursday.

Junior Achievement (JA) classes help prepare young people for the real world by providing hands-on lessons dealing with work readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. Junior Achievement was first introduced in the Oil City School District in 2002. "Junior Achievement of Venango County? was officially formed in 2005 and extended JA classes to include Rocky Grove, Franklin and Cranberry schools. To date, almost 1000 local students have experienced JA. Due to the success of the program additional classes have been added and expansion into the Titusville area is underway. With this expansion an additional 600 local students will be touched by JA this school year.

Oil Region Library Association (ORLA) has governed the Oil City Library since 2016. ORLA is dedicated to enriching the lives of our community, encouraging lifelong learning and providing access to information and resources.
