    As part of the FLEX Your Goals Program, FLEX is reading the book The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy. This discussion will cover chapter 4.

  • Nature Arts Showcase

    5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
    Barrow-Civic Theatre, 1223 Liberty Street, Franklin
    The Nature Arts Showcase will display 40+ artists including paintings, sculptures, photography, furniture, papier-mache, mixed media, glass mosaics, 3-D items, and fabric art pieces. Local artists portray outdoor activities, wildlife, and nature as found in Venango County. The free display opens on Friday, where the public may meet many of the participating artists during an informal reception in the lobby of the Barrow-Civic Theatre. The showcase is hosted by the Council on Greenways and Trails and non-profit partner Penn Soil Resource Conservation and Development Council. Come enjoy local natural art and provided refreshments!

  • FLEX Dinner & Show Social

    Bella Cucina | Barrow Civic Theatre
    Join FLEX for a fancy night in Franklin! We'll meet at Bella Cucina at 5:30 p.m. for networking, cocktails, and dinner, then head to the Barrow Civic Theatre for a showing of Liberty Cabaret Goes to the Movies.

    ONLY 20 SPOTS AVAILABLE! 

    Dinner at Bella's will be dutch treat. The first 20 to RSVP will get a free show ticket and a beverage at the Barrow.

    The room at dinner only fits 20, but, even if you don't RSVP in time, you are welcome to purchase your own ticket from the Barrow and meet us at the show after dinner.

    Some FLEX members will be dressing up (cocktail attire), but you are welcome to dress how you are most comfortable.

  • Creative Peeps Art Club

    Creative Peeps are getting together once a month, on the 1st Saturday, to make art at the Coop. Join us as we explore different art mediums through a variety of fun projects. Each month we will focus on a particular subject or technique. At the end of the year, we will host an art show for all the Creative Peeps and their families! Ages 4+. (Children under 4 may join, but MUST be accompanied by an adult.) Deadline to register is November 1st or when space runs out. You are encouraged to register early to ensure your spot!

    This year's Celebration of Talent contest will span quite the range in ages and in talents. 12 performers from ages 8 to 87 will compete for a top prize of $500 cash, and YOUR vote counts! The contests include singers, musicians, and dancers, who will display their talents on stage and only move on from the preliminary round if receiving the top 5 in the number of votes from the audience. The competition is presented by the theater and Franklin Rotary Club. Come support local talent!

  • Cold for a Cause POLAR PLUNGE

    Crosby Beach, Two Mile Run County Park
    The Oil City YMCA and Two Mile Run County Park are hosting the first Cold for a Cause polar plunge. Registration is from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The plunge takes place in 10-person waves starting at noon.

    Come support local youth through the YMCA annual campaign for needed improvements at the Two Mile Run Park.

    Participants will receive T-shirts for gathering a minimum of $15 in pledges. T-shirts and towels awarded to those who collect at least $100. Those collecting $500 in pledges will earn a T-shirt, towel, and hooded sweatshirt. Pledge forms are available at www.oilcityymca.org/resources.

  • Oil Heritage Festival Bike 'n Brew Meeting

    5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
    Scierka's Tavern (100 Elk St, Oil City)
    Help plan the Third Annual Bike 'n Brew! At this meeting, we'll discuss logistics of the event and plans for contacting brewers, sponsors, and vendors. Anyone interested in helping with the event is invited to attend.

    A family-style meal will be provided by Scierka's for this meeting for $5 a person (not including drinks). Please email acowles@venangochamber.org if you plan to eat.

    The Oil Heritage Bike 'n Brew will take place on Saturday, July 21, in Justus Park in Oil City, with outdoor activities and a brewfest with samples from local and national breweries.

    The studio will be open every 4th Tuesday of the month from 6-8pm for anyone 18+ to come and work on a project. Drop in anytime during open studio hours! We have art supplies stocked at the studio (we ask for a small fee to cover canvases, etc.) or you can bring your own and just use our awesome space! It's a great chance to get together with friends. Coffee and water are available.
