  • Franklin Middle & High Schools Christmas Band Concert

    Franklin High School
    The Franklin Middle School and High School bands, under the direction of Steve Johnston, will present their annual Christmas concert in the high school auditorium.

    A special feature of the concert will be guest soloist Samuel DePalma performing seasonal selections with both the middle and high school bands. Having performed at major opera houses throughout the world, including Carnegie Hall and The Metropolitan Opera, DePalma is well known as one of the most gifted Basso Verdiano.
    The program is free and open to the public.

    Franklin Library
    The library is hosting its annual gingerbread house contest. The contest is open to participants of all ages including individuals or groups. Houses may be delivered to the library before 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10, and Friday, Dec. 11. Judging will be held Saturday, Dec. 12. The houses will remain on display until Monday, Dec. 21. Interested parties may pick up a registration form at the front desk.

  • Victorian Style Holiday Tea

    The Venango County Historical Society will host a Victorian-style holiday tea.
    There will be one seating at noon.

    Seating is limited and reservations are required by calling 437-2275.

    Historical publications will also be offered for sale.
    The society is working to collect names of World War I servicemen and women from the county to be placed on the memo- rial in front of the courthouse. Names with information about their service may be sent to the society at P.O. Box 101, Franklin.

Members of all skill levels are welcomed, from beginner to expert. Youth are given free membership with an adult member sponsorship. Membership dues are $25.00.   • Tarbell House Christmas Tea

    324 E. Main St., Titusville
    A series of teas will be held at the Tarbell House in Titusville. The first tea is scheduled at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, and will feature the house decorated for the holiday season. Titusville High school students will portray various characters from the community’s past.

    Non-alcoholic, family-oriented New Year's Eve celebration of the Arts. Over 15 premier performers in indoor locations. Shuttle bus, bonfires, food. Children's event begin at 6:00 pm, a Cool Night Light People's Procession is at 6:45, 7PM fireworks, children's events and adult performers resume at 7:30 pm. Midnight burst of fireworks to usher in the New Year.

    Admission is by button. $10/per person. Children 5 years of age and under are FREE. Buttons are $8 prior to Christmas and on sale the evening of the event.
