257 Buy Sell Trade

257 Buy Sell Trade is a family-owned retail store that buys and sells pre-owned merchandise. The store is owned and run by Derek Bailey and deals in gold, silver, jewelry, coins, electronics, tools, memorabilia, musical instruments, and much more. They offer brand new and estate jewelry from their large inventory and also offer minor jewelry repair, jewelry polishing and refurbishing services, and watch battery installations.

257 Buy Sell Trade got its start back in April of 2013 and has been learning and growing ever since. Derek Bailey has been diamond certified through the Gemological Institute of America, contributing to his tendency and desire for jewelry in business.

“Most people are surprised to know that we essentially have a mini-jewelry store inside the confines of the business,” said Derek.

Derek loves being a business owner in Venango County and the opportunities that he has to give back to his community.

“My favorite part about working in Venango County is giving back to the community and actually seeing the difference,” said Derek. “We were able to donate almost $900 to Venango County Toy For Tots. We did this through a campaign we started called Touchdowns For Tots. We donated a dollar for every point the Oilers football team scored. It was a fun time and got multiple organizations working together to help our youth.”

The most challenging part of owning a buy and sell business for Derek is convincing people that his business does not fall in with the typical  stereotype that is associated with it. Derek tries to  remind people that his business is family owned and family friendly.
