Cranberry Festival Better than Ever!

The Venango Chamber is busy making plans for the Cranberry Festival on Saturday, September 19th. The festival committee is excited to offer some fun new events to this year’s festival.

The 1st Annual Scarecrow Contest is being planned. This event is free to any area business, non-profits, families, or individuals.  Wooden mounting posts will be provided, just bring your own scarecrow decked out in old jeans, shirts, hats, boots, etc. The scarecrow contest will be judged by our festival committee on Friday, September 18th. The winners will be pinned with a ribbon on Saturday for all festival-goers to view.

Also, new this year, will be Spotted Draft Horse Wagon Rides provided by Ken & Chris Kaber from noon until 6pm. The horse and wagon rides will be by donation basis only.

Entertainment throughout the day includes: Glimpse of Glory, HOLeY Jeans, Mostly Brass, Allegheny Sounds,                    Dempseytown Ramblers and the Allegheny String Band.

A Touch-a-Truck event is new this year, which will take place Saturday evening at the Cranberry Mall from 7-9pm, with a large fireworks finale ending the festival at 9pm. View our online schedule of events at or 2009 Cranberry Festival Schedule of Events.
